Know Before You Go for Spiti Valley Bike/Car Trip:

  • Anyone with major surgery or has broken leg/arm, chronic pain, joint pain etc pains.
  • People with high blood pressure problems.
  • Please carry your Identity proof while joining for the tour.
  • Climatic conditions in the high altitudes vary from the plains; it is advisable that you take adequate time to get acclimatized to high altitudes.
  • Rates may fluctuate with any change in services/hotels. The difference in the cost shall be borne by the client in case of any amendment in the package due to an increase in the number of guests, hotel change, etc., before the beginning of the trip.
  • The hotels are subject to their availability. In case they are not available, the travellers will be accommodated in a property of similar standard.
  • Please make full payment 10days prior to the tour date in order to enjoy a safe and sound tour.
  • Any kind of drink (alcoholic, aerated, or mineral water) is not included in the package cost.
  • Please wear clothes according to the weather while travelling.
  • It is recommended to carry enough warm clothes and the right kind of shoes for the tour.
  • The advisable baggage weight is 60 liters as you might have to carry the luggage to the backup vehicle, the accommodation, etc.
  • ID proof is mandatory for each individual guest at the time of booking, and also upon arrival. PAN card will not be considered as a valid address proof.
  • Taxes applicable to the package cost.
  • Any breakage or damage of any items in the resort/hotel/homestay will be charged at actuals.
  • All the travellers are requested to carry a copy of their medical certificate (if any) with them.
  • Guidelines issued by the State-Government are to be followed.
  • Frequent hand sanitization and use of mask recommended.
  • We provide self-drive bikes and cars on rent as well but with prior notice. There will be a refundable security deposit per bike depending on the variant selected. Please ensure you pay that in advance and carry the receipt with you at all times to get a refund later.
  • In case a rider leaves the bike in the middle of the trip, charges for re-transporting the bike to the destination will be borne by the rider.
  • During a bike trip, in case the roads are blocked due to landslides or a reason that is beyond control, EscapeArc will rearrange the itinerary for the travellers real-time, however, the cost of alternative accommodation will be borne by the customer as the hotels pre-booked execute their cancellation policies and are nonrefundable.
  • Any fuel for the bikes, any charges for spares parts and damage caused to the bikes, etc. will be charged at extra.
  • Check your bikes properly before every day’s ride and keep the tour guide informed of the same.
  • Always carry your driver’s license, wear helmets and riding gear, etc., while riding a bike.

RIDE GUIDELINES:

  • This is for the safety of your fellow riders and you.
  • Safety gear such as Right size Helmets, Riding Jackets, Hand Gloves, Knee Guards are compulsory.
  • Fuel Tanks are to be full before the ride on each day.
  • Carry a water bottle, some healthy snacks and a small hand towel.
  • High attitude fitness certificate from a doctor is compulsory.
  • There may be last moment changes in the plan or the route due to unavoidable situations.
  • Riders should maintain strict discipline while riding.
  • Share any difficulty faced during the ride with the organizer or any fellow rider.
  • Show your support to your fellow riders in case of any difficulties.
  • Carry hard cash to be on the safer side since all spots might not accept cards or even have an ATM.

BASIC & PERSONAL:

  • Items to carry which are of prime importance.
  • Identity proof (Voter ID and Passport, Aadhar card/Pan card) along with passport size photos (3).
  • Personal documents: License.
  • Vehicle documents: RC/ Insurance/ PUC.
  • 1 rucksack – minimum of 60L.
  • 1 day pack of 15-20L to move around with ease (waterproof recommended).
  • 2L of water bottle and/or hydration pack.
  • Mandatory High altitude fitness medical test report.
  • Basic tool repair kit.
  • LED Torchlight.
  • Power bank.
  • Spare key of your bike.
  • Waterproof pouches for securing electronic items.
  • A backpack rain cover.
  • Headlamp/flashlight with spare batteries (cold weather drains batteries).
  • Camera with extra batteries/ memory card.
  • Apparel & Footwear:
  • Riding Jacket
  • At least 1 pair of inner thermals.
  • At least 1 set of Rain Gear.
  • 1 set of heavy woolens.
  • 1 fleece jacket.
  • 1 warm jacket.
  • 1 pair of gloves.
  • At least 2 long pants (trek pants and cargo pants are favorable).
  • 4 pairs of socks (2 pairs of cotton and 2 pairs of woolen socks).
  • 2 pairs of shoes with good grip and insulation (anklets are preferable).
  • Slippers or flip flops.
  • A towel.
  • Hygiene Kit & Medications:
  • Toothpaste, toothbrush.
  • Paper soap, shampoo sachet.
  • Sunscreen minimum of SPF50, High SPF Sunscreen (UV40+), moisturizers, lip balm, cold creams.
  • Body spray.
  • Face wipes.
  • Personal medication as per prescription.
  • In case of any injuries, please bring an antiseptic, lotion, bandages, crepe bandages, cotton and sprain relief spray.
  • Glucose powder.
  • Tablets for headaches, diarrhea, motion and altitude sickness.
  • Cough relief tablets (e.g.: Vicks, Strepsils etc).
  • Any personal medication advised by the doctor.
  • A small First-Aid kit.

    PREPARE YOUR MACHINE: Get your Machine ride-ready.

    • Service of your machine at the nearest service center before arriving for the ride is highly recommended.
    • Take your race machine on a short trip before the 15-day ride.
    • Make sure the following points are checked to get your race machine ready before your ride.
    • Chain stretch, belt cracking and sprocket wear.
    • Wheel alignment, tyre condition and tyre pressure.
    • Tyre tread wear.
    • Headlight, tail lamps and signal lamps (should be in proper condition).
    • Rear swing-arm bush for wear & tear and replace if necessary.
    • Make sure that your clutch is in order and adjusted properly without a trace of any drag, slip etc.
    • Clutch cable hardness and wear.
    • All cables – If any are frayed, replace them.
    • Bike’s suspension.
    • Engine oil – make sure that the engine oil is in good condition.
      Oil level – Oil replacement is recommended.
    • Make sure that the air filter is clean.
    • Replace fuel filter.
    • Brake pad wear (Brakes should be checked twice or thrice).

     

    RIDING GEAR GUIDE:

  • This is how we gear up for the ride.
    • A certified (ECE/DOT/ISI/SNEL) motorcycle helmet is mandatory. Also, correct size helmets are highly recommended. While full-face helmets are preferred, Modular helmets will be allowed. Half-face or crash survivor helmets will not be allowed.
    • Keep spare sunglasses or goggles handy. Snow blindness is painful and can be dangerous.
    • Riding jacket with CE approved armor is recommended.
    • Riding gloves with knuckle protection is important and recommended.
    • CE certified Riding pants are recommended.
      Carry Visor cleaning kit and a spare visor cleaner for helmets.
    • Carry anti-fog creams/sprays for glasses.
    • It is compulsory to use Riding boots with ankle protection. Sneakers or sports footwear will not be allowed to be worn while riding
    • Waterproof boots and rain protective gears are strongly recommended.

Tour Plan

Day 1 Arrival in Chandigarh

ABOUT THE PLACE:

Meet with your fellow riders and get to know each other better. You will then meet your road captain who will be leading the entire trip and will brief you about the terrain and will draw out a day-wise final plan. Overnight stay in Chandigarh.

Day 2 Chandigarh to Narkanda |The Apple Capital of India

ABOUT THE PLACE:

Start early to beat the traffic out of Chandigarh and head towards the Himalayas. Narkanda is also known as the fruit bowl of Himachal Pradesh. Apple and cherry trees line the roadsides and trees spread their sweet aroma all around. End the day at the hotel in Narkanda.

Day 3 Narkanda to Chitkul |Chitkul The Last Inhabited Village at the Indo-Tibetan Border

ABOUT THE PLACE:

After a delicious breakfast, travel along the Sutlej river till Karcham. Take a right turn towards Chitkul following the Baspa river. Chitkul is the last inhabited village before the Indo-China border and here you can also visit the famous ‘Hindustan ka Akhri Dhaba’. Dinner and overnight stay at the hotel/homestay in chitkul.

Day 4 Chitkul to Nako via Kalpa

ABOUT THE PLACE:

Post Breakfast, check out from the hotel and ride back towards Karcham. Travel through the Indo - Tibetan highway and pass through Khab Bridge which marks the confluence of Spiti and the Satluj River. Proceed towards Nako where you will be spending the night at a hotel.

Day 5 Tabo to Pin valley (Mud village) via Gue monesytry

Witness Spellbinding Views of Dhankar monestry and Ghue mummy.

Post breakfast explore the spectacular beauty of Pin valley. Visit Key Gompa Monastery, Langza, Hikkim - 'World’s Highest Post Office'. Return to the hotel in Kaza for an overnight stay.

Day 6 Mud village to kaza (Hikkim , Komic village and Langza)

Post breakfast proceed to  the highest village in Asia – Komic, situated at a height of 4513 m, has a population of 84 people and is cut off from rest of the world for most parts of the year,Later, we drive to Hikkim, where we have a chance to send postcards from the world’s highest post office!

At Langza, walk back to the prehistoric era when Spiti was submerged by the Tethys Sea, as you explore a land very rich with fossils of Marine animals and plants which were here millions of years ago.

(Depending on the road n weather conditions).Trek to explore Nearby. Head towards Kaza. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at the camps/Hotel .

 

Day 7 Kaza to Chandrataal lake via chicham Bridge,Key and kibber monestry

Post breakfast head towards KeyMonastery ,Being remotely located atop a hill overlooking endless plains, the Key Monastery is a world famous center for learning and is an obvious choice for those seeking peace and calm.

Enroute you will be crossing to the highest suspension bridge in Asia - The Chicham Bridge.By evening reach Chandrataal lake and overnight stay in Chandrataal .

Day 8 Chandrataal lake to Manali

After breakfast checkout the camp leave for Chandrataal lake .By 12 pm noon  Proceed to Manali for night stay.

In evening say Goodbye to the new family and bid farewell to your fellow riders. This marks the end of your memorable trip to the beautiful Spiti Valley.

Day 10 Manali to Chandigarh
